Every year, the Marist Schools in South Africa set aside an hour in October to say a decade of the Rosary during this special month. October is seen as the month of the Rosary due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on 7 October. As Marists, we have a special devotion to Mary and it is important to us to mark this month in a way that brings us all together in prayer.
We celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures and traditions that make our world so beautifully diverse. Our heritage is a mosaic of stories, customs, and histories that have shaped us into who we are today.
Let’s take a moment to reflect on the importance of preserving and sharing our heritage with future generations. It’s through understanding and appreciating our roots that we can build a more inclusive and harmonious future.
Happy Heritage Day, South Africa!
Today, we come together to celebrate the rich tapestry of our nation’s diverse cultures, traditions, and histories. From the vibrant rhythms of our music to the mouthwatering aromas of our cuisine, our heritage is a colorful mosaic that makes us proudly South African!
Let’s embrace our differences, learn from one another, and cherish the unity that our diversity brings. Together, we are stronger!
